History is everywhere in Italy. Even in places you don't expect. Here is a building in Verona that was being renovated. When they removed the facade, they discovered that the building was built over an ancient Roman building.

And here, when they were doing some work on the street, they discovered an ancient Roman road and buildings underneath.

Verona is the supposedly the home of the real life families that Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet" was based on. Here is a picture of Juliet's balcony. The walls of the courtyard are covered with love notes.

Also in the courtyard is this bronze statue of Juliet.
